Sheffield, Alabama

Sheffield is located in the beautiful northwest corner of the State of Alabama, 20 miles south of the border with Tennessee and 20 miles east of the Mississippi border. This provides Sheffield with the advantage of being close enough to commute easily to Florence, and yet far enough away to have a small town feel. Sheffield is a mecca for anglers, boaters, and water sports enthusiasts. It is located close to the Tennessee River and the dams at Florence. Watersports are also very popular here because of the temperate climate all year around. Sheffield prides itself on being very educationally conscious. Sheffield is part of the Florence City School System, which is rated among the highest in the State of Alabama and is constantly striving to improve its status. There is also the nearby site of the University of North Alabama, which adds to the educational and cultural activities of the area. Housing here in Sheffield is reasonable, it seems this is a part of Alabama that has been largely untouched, and that can be seen in the large stretches of untouched acres of pristine, virgin areas. New sub-divisions are being developed but the developers are being careful to integrate the natural habitat as much as possible. Many of the new developments have their own nature trails and preserves. Why not come and see why Sheffield is the place of choice for those looking to wind-down after a hectic day in the big city? Sheffield offers friendliness and small town values in a fast paced world.
