Casas Adobes is a cluster of neighborhoods located north of Tucson in Southern Arizona. There are approximately 56,000 residents sprawled over a large area, with mostly older block homes or adobe homes (hence the name) and large lots. Casas Adobes has one of the most spectacular malls in the area, with some of the most exclusive shops available. It is definitely easy to while away a day, or more at this place! But that is not all there is to do in this area! There are several National Monuments and State Parks located right in Pima County, which are fascinating to visit. There is the Ironwood Forest, a forest of the interesting trees in the middle of a desert area, and also the Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument. Like most of Southern Arizona, Casas Adobes experiences the heat! Winters here are extremely mild and perhaps in the morning and evening you might need to put a sweater or a light jacket on. In the summer of course, the sun is fierce, and sunscreen is a necessity, rather than a luxury! Casas Adobes is known for being a quiet region, with peaceful streets, where it is not unusual to see the local kids playing an impromptu game of street hockey. Although there are many residents, because the area is broken up into smaller communities there is a close-knit feeling and a sense of belonging. Tucson is only a hop, skip and a jump away, which allows for a quick commute and perhaps for some evening entertainment. And yet, at the end of the day, the drive back into the country feel of the desert, and the beauty of the crystal clear skies definitely is the reason why so many people have chosen Casas Adobes as their home ? come and see why!
