Rogers, Arkansas

Population: 48,666
Located in Benton County

Rogers is a city of nearly 50,000 in the northwest corner of Arkansas-the state's dynamic growth area. Close to the headquarters of Fortune 500 companies like Wal-Mart, J.B. Hunt Transport, and Tyson Foods, Rogers is right in the mainstream of the economic vitality of Arkansas.

Natural scenic beauty (including Beaver Lake), agricultural and industrial diversity, wonderful schools and churches, and great people help distinguish Rogers as one of the elite cities in America.

This is a community that has nearly doubled in size every decade for the last thirty years and showing a population growth of 40% in the last ten years is certainly living right. Booming, some would say. Historic downtown Rogers, with its brick-paved streets and unique shops and restaurants is one area that draws the traveler's attention. Incorporated in 1881 when the first passenger train rolled in on the Frisco railroad, the downtown district is one of Arkansas' original Main Street programs.

Northwest Arkansas' diversity includes museums that chronicle the history of towns, firearms, entrepreneurs and other cultural events, including the Rogers Historical Museum, The Rogers Daisy Airgun Museum, Walton's 5 & 10 Museum, Pea Ridge National Military Park, Civil War Museum, Shiloh Museum, University of Arkansas Museum, Peel House Mansion and Museum and Bella Vista and Benton County Historical Museums.

History again shines in the variety of arts and crafts available in Northwest Arkansas. Everything from the treasured handmade quilts, to finely-crafted dolls and furniture are available. The festivals and fairs, held the first weekend in May and the third week-end in October, are increasing yearly. Besides the popular and giant War Eagle Arts and Crafts Fair, you can visit The Ole' Applegate Arts & Crafts Festival in Bentonville, the Hillbilly Corner fair, Sharp's Show of War Eagle, and fairs in surrounding towns including Pea Ridge, Siloam Springs, Fayetteville, Springdale and Eureka Springs.

With crystal-clear blue waters, great fishing, boating, and recreation for the entire family, Beaver Lake is a popular destination. Nestled in the Ozark Mountains, this 30,000-acre lake is minutes from downtown Rogers and Lowell. With numerous boat docks and marinas, lake access is readily available. Lakeside cabins, resorts, and campgrounds also offer a great place to relax if you're looking for a peaceful getaway.

After seeing all that Rogers and Northwest Arkansas has to offer, it's no wonder that many vacationers return to this Ozark oasis to retire. The mild climate is one reason. Four beautifully different seasons offer a delightful change of pace. Another important reason is the gentle quality of life. In Rogers, you can escape smog and nerve-wracking traffic and replace them with winding mountain roads and quiet country living. The cost of living is agreeable, and the recreational attractions abundant.

If you're tired of concrete and plastic, you must experience the natural wonders of our area for yourself. Stand on a mountain top and take a deep breath of fresh air; look out over miles of green forests, blue lakes, and free-flowing streams. See how much room we have for living and growing.
