Portage Park Relocation

About Portage Park

With its convenient location to downtown and the suburbs, Portage Park is home to a number of middle-class families. Unlike many of the surrounding neighborhoods, Portage Park residents enjoy a quieter atmosphere. While many young people are relocating here, it has yet to see the prominence of restaurants and nightlife.

Portage Park Housing

Bungalows and frame homes are common throughout Portage Park. There has also been an increase in older home renovations. Many of the residents take great pride in their homes and the neighborhood has a more suburban feel. The average home price is just under $300,000.

Portage Park Culture

Portage Park has historically been home to many Polish immigrants and many Polish grocers and shops can be found throughout the neighborhood. This is a good community to raise a family with housing prices remaining stable and many activities geared toward children.

Portage Park Recreation

The shopping district known as Six Corners has undergone major renovations and is a popular attraction for the residents. Portage Park proper includes bicycle and running paths, swimming pools, basketball and tennis courts and athletic fields as well as a variety of programs and classes.
