Englewood RelocationAbout EnglewoodEnglewood, Hamilton Park ![]() One of the most economically deficient neighborhoods in Chicago, Englewood has been making slow but steady attempts to rebuild itself. The area does boast some of the most impressive vintage architecture, including a number of Italianate structures and stunning landmark buildings. Englewood Housing![]() Many of the homes in Englewood are in need of repair keeping home prices low (mostly under $100,000). Some parts of Englewood are starting to see developments and new homes being built and revitalized. There are a variety of styles such as condos, ranches and duplexes. Englewood Culture![]() Englewood is an African-American community rich with spirituality and character. Unfortunately, many of the residents live below the poverty level and historically, there has been a high crime rate. There has been some work towards revitalizing the community through city and neighborhood programs. Englewood Recreation![]() The neighborhood is home to a few independently owned restaurants and a number of playlot parks, including Carpenter, Edmonds Emerald, Junction Grove, No. 42 and Periwinkle Playlot Park. The parks are small and include such amenities as playground, baseball diamonds and basketball courts. |
