Humboldt Park Relocation

About Humboldt Park

Humboldt Park, Palmer Square

Humboldt Park is a diverse mix of ethnicities and is a well-known Puerto Rican community. This neighborhood has started to see some growth and redevelopment, due to its proximity to such trendy neighborhoods as Wicker Park.

Humboldt Park Housing

Once a crime-ridden community, many of Humboldt Park's residents and businesses have turned around many of these once decaying homes. There are a large number of historic Victorians and Colonials as well as greystones. You can find a house anywhere from $100,000 to $400,000 and the property values are quickly rising.

Humboldt Park Culture

Once populated by Polish and German immigrants, Humboldt Park is a diverse community, rich in history and culture. The Puerto Rican influence is highly apparent throughout Humboldt Park, the Paseo Boricua business corridor has been very active in the community.

Humboldt Park Recreation

Surrounded by trendy neighborhoods such as Wicker Park, many eclectic shops and restaurants are found throughout Humboldt Park. One of its most unusual destinations is the nightclub, California Clipper, a throwback to Chicago’s prohibition years. Humboldt Park proper is an attraction to many of the area's residents and families. With over 200 acres of beach, athletic fields, swimming pools, tennis courts, trails, playgrounds and a fieldhouse complete with gyms, it has been designated a Chicago landmark.
