California Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Buena Park, California
Population: 78,282
Located in Orange County
Buena Park is the definitely most strategically located community in Southern California. It sits between the region's busiest freeways - Santa Ana, Riverside and Beach Boulevard. Only 20 minutes driving time takes you to Los Angeles, Orange County and Long Beach Airports, as well as the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach. This explains why this region has one of the highest concentrations of international companies and companies conducting international trade.
Initially, Buena Park was little more than as a dairy center, and both the Sante Fe and Southern Pacific railroads built depots. The Lily Creamery started operations in Buena Park in 1889. With the exception of a few wineries, the creamery was the first industry in the city.
But, today the city is not only a highly successful commercial area, it is also home to the popular E-Zone or Entertainment Zone. E-Zone is home to such exciting attractions as Knott's Berry Farm, Medieval Times Dinner and Tournament, Movieland Wax Museum, Ripley's "Believe It or Not!" Museum and Knott's Soak City U.S.A.
Homes run the gamut here in price, style and size, and the choices are limitless, whether it's an apartment, condo or single family home. Homes/Condo's start at $390,000 for a 1,200 square foot two-three bedroom condo with one or two patios. For a single family home ranging in size from 1,600 to 2,000 square feet in size, expect to spend between $500,000 and $750,000. Many of the homes have great features like being close to the lake, or walking distance to the schools. Ranch styles are popular, but the Mediterranean look is also a winner! Colonials are found a lot too, especially in the newer sub-divisions. Estate properties with private swimming pools, spas and multiple fireplaces range from the high $800,000s to more than $2 million for expansive properties with scenic views. Land and lots are also available for custom development
Students in grades K-12 are served by excellent schools of the Buena Park Elementary, Cypress Elementary, Centralia Elementary, Anaheim Union High and Fullerton Joint Union High school districts. Several colleges and universities, including California State University of Fullerton, which is a 10-minute drive away - are in proximity for those who wish to attain a degree in higher education.
Tourism plays a major role in the city's strong economic base. In addition to all of the excitement the city has to offer, Buena Park provides its approximately 80,000 residents with clean and safe neighborhoods, a strong and growing economy and the convenience of being just minutes from Orange County's beautiful beaches. Buena Park certainly does have it - come and check us out!
