California Real Estate & Relocation Guide

Corona, California

Population: 125,000

Located in Riverside County

Corona is proud to hold two very honorable distinctions. First, it is currently California's fastest growing community and, secondly, it has been ranked as one of the best places to live and work in the nation. Corona's history reveals the richness of this area, both culturally and economically. It is no wonder that present-day Corona is continuing its wonderful heritage.

The local LuiseƱo Indians were the first Spanish people to settle here and were the first in the entire county. Perhaps they were attracted by the natural setting which, aside from being beautiful, provided them with food, straw for baskets, and hot water in the Temescal Canyon. Today, Corona can boast of much more, including the Temescal Tin Mines, the first lemon processing plant in the country, the world's largest cheese plant, and some of the best clay and mineral deposits in the United States.

All of these resources insure an economy that will continue to grow. In fact, over 50,000 people presently work in Corona and over 10,000 houses have been built since the mid-1990's. Corona has a solid industrial base, several centers of both large and small retail, and office construction is rampant.

A vast number of recreational opportunities exist due to Corona's close proximity to the mountainous Cleveland Forest. In addition, Lake Matthews is only a few miles the east and the Pacific coastline is about 25 miles away. Community events throughout the year help keep residents close. These include the Praise Festival, "Movie in the Park" nights, and outdoor concerts.
