The Art Festivals are "en plein air" which refers to the popularity of painting outdoors. The impressionist painters, including Claude Monet, Camille Pissarro, and Pierre-August Renoir, advocated en plein air painting and much of their work was done outdoors. The Art Foundation also supports art education programs. The Bob Hope Crysler Classic Golf Tournament is held every year in The Coachella Valley and many of the La Quinta Country Clubs participate in this PGA TOUR event.
