The Lockeford area is a warm and friendly combination of old and new neighborhoods, farms and ranches in a pleasant country setting. Delta breezes cool the summer nights while the crickets sing you to sleep. Snow capped Sierras can be seen in the distance above vineyards and orchards, which surround our area.

Close to Lodi, Stockton and Sacramento, there are many cultural functions and recreational areas within a short driving distance. With only two hours to Lake Tahoe and many ski resorts and camping areas we are sometimes called the 'Gateway to the Sierras'. Two hours in the opposite direction takes you to the San Francisco Bay area. What a great central location we have in the midst of the San Joaquin Valley.

We have two street faires each year, one in the spring and the other in the fall. Vendors travel from all over to participate and 8,000 to 10,000 people browse Jack Tone Bypass for some great shopping opportunities. Raging Horses Truck and Tractor Pull is host to 5,000 spectators each

September for a fun-filled day at the Clements Rodeo Grounds. In the fall, Lockeford Springs Golf Course invites people to participate in the annual Chamber Golf Tournament. The golf course is open to the public for the rest of the year as well. And in this ideal climate, playing golf all year round is a certainty, not a maybe.

This area is also rife with wineries and vineyards, some more famous than others. Sutter Home Winery is in the region, as well as Woodbridge. Several others are the Bogle Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, Phillips Vineyards, Rosenblum Cellars and Korbel. You can while away a pleasant weekend sampling all of these wonderful wineries.

Lockeford was founded by a man named Chet Locke, and even 175 years later, many of his namesakes live here. The town of Lockeford has recently shifted into a higher gear with more residential building, and there are high expectations for a new era for the small village along the river.

Home prices are about the average for the California area. A three bedroom ranch, or Colonial on a city lot, with two bathrooms and a two car garage will range in price from $350,000 to $400,000. Something a little larger, and on a few acres will set you back by $790,000. Most homes come with spectacular views of the mountain range, or even of the lakes.
