Los Angeles (LA)- Brentwood, California
Located in Los Angeles County
Brentwood (LA), CaliforniaBrentwood is an upscale neighborhood located north of West L.A., near the mountains that separate the San Fernando Valley from L.A. proper. Bel Air bounds Brentwood on the east, Santa Monica lies to the west, and the Pacific Palisades are located to the northwest. The eastern edge of Brentwood is where San Vicente turns south and becomes Federal Avenue at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard. Wilshire bounds the neighborhood on the south, and 26th Street is at the west end of town. The main drag in Brentwood is San Vicente Boulevard, which runs east and west through a small town center lined with restaurants, shops, and a couple of gas stations. North of San Vicente is a residential area made up of large houses and, further north, mansions. South of San Vicente, apartments line some streets, although they tend to be very expensive. Note that it is very easy to get lost on the side streets north of San Vicente, as they do not form a grid or even necessarily connect with one another. Instead, they wind northward toward the mountains and are more private than one might expect.
