This area was originally part of the Rancho Cucamonga Valley with the Mira Loma area becoming a portion of the Jurupa Valley more recently. Once known as Wineville, the name was changed to Mira Loma, which means "view of the hills" in the late 1920's. In the early 1930's, the dairymen and wineries began to develop here. Now, there are few dairies and wineries left. Galleano Winery is the main winery in the area. The median income for Mira Loma residents is $42,588.

Mira Loma has easy access to the mountains, beaches, desert resorts, entertainment, sports, dining, performing arts, and all cultural amenities that Southern California has to offer.
