California Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Petaluma, California
Population: 50,000
Located in Sonoma County
We are located in southern Sonoma County, California; only 40 minutes north of San Francisco. Our over 50,000 residents enjoy the very best that Northern California has to offer. In less than an hour, you can be in the cultural heart of San Francisco, the world renowned vineyards of Sonoma and Napa Counties, the breathtaking beaches of the Pacific coast, or walking among the giant redwoods.
Because Petaluma was miraculously untouched by the 1906 earthquake, hundreds of quaint Victorian and turn-of-the-century homes and commercial buildings remain, and sightseeing is a particularly rewarding treat. Petaluma's entire downtown area was just recently placed on the National Historic Register.
Our City offers many amenities to its residents and visitors including golf courses, a municipal airport and marina, a thriving community center, local theatre, and music events as well as opportunities for bicycling, tennis, swimming, boating, and ocean surfing.
The governmental offices of the City provide many services to our citizens which are detailed on our web site. It is our hope that through the use of this form of communication, we will be better able to provide timely and useful information to our residents, provide another medium for our citizens to communicate with their elected representatives and governmental staff, and allow us the opportunity to introduce ourselves as a community to the rest of the world.
