Located in Contra Costa County

Pleasant Hill is one of the "newer" suburban towns that first developed following World War II. The weather is balmy with breezes from the Carquinez Straits to the north. There are rolling hills and views of Mt. Diablo with easy access to Highways 680 and 24 and close to two BART stations (Pleasant Hill and Lafayette).

Pleasant Hill has been sprucing up recently with a new city hall, new theater complex, new down-town shopping center with restaurants and a hotel.

RECREATION:
Pleasant Hill is bordered by Briones Park (East Bay Regional Park District) and served by over eleven City Parks with numerous activities for children as well as seniors. When the city was a farming community it was served by a canal which supplied the water; now East Bay Parks maintains the trail for hiking, biking and jogging. It runs from Martinez over 25 miles through Walnut Creek and Concord. Call Kay for a map!

A private golf course is located near Diablo Valley College--Contra Costa County Club with over 500 members and 185 acres.

SHOPPING:
Pleasant Hill's newest shopping center includes, Border's Books, Michaels crafts, Bed, Bath and More, restaurants, a theatre and numerous shops. Sun Valley Shopping Center in Concord and Broadway Plaza in Walnut Creek are nearby. The Farmer's Market is usually held on Saturdays.

HOMES:
Most homes were constructed in the 1950's and 60's, but there are also many new and newer subdivisions, as well as condominiums and town homes. The condominium prices range from $250,000-$350,000. Attached homes are $370-$400,000. Single family detached homes sell for $380,000 for a three bedroom one bath to $700,000 for newer larger homes.
