The Shasta Lake area is located at the very top of the great Central Valley, in beautiful Northern California, nestled between lush, green mountains. Visible from the City of Shasta Lake are both Lassen Peak and Mount Shasta: both areas offer seasonal snow skiing, snow boarding and hiking. Shasta Lake and the Dam are a short, five minute drive from the City. It is enjoyed year-round by fishermen, water skiers, house-boaters, or just those wishing to spend a weekend camping. There are a number of full-service marinas located on the lake. Nearby attractions also include Lassen Volcanic Park & ski area, and Burney Falls state park, both less than one hour to the east. Lake Shasta Caverns is 15 minutes north on I-5.
