Broadmoor, ColoradoBroadmoor is a well-established community within Colorado Springs. The community began in 1891, when a Prussian count, James Pourtales, established the Broadmoor Land and Investment Company. He opened a casino and a small hotel. In 1897, the Stratton Estate purchased the hotel and casino. The buildings were converted into a boarding house and day school for girls. Finally, in 1916, Spencer Penrose purchased the property. Penrose turned the hotel into a world-class resort property. Today, The BroAdmoor Hotel is known as one the finest resorts around the world. The community surrounding the resort is filled with a variety of beautiful homes, mature landscaping, and beautiful views of Cheyenne Mountain. While, the area has a community feel, it is fortunate to be part of a large city. Residents have easy access to everything a large city has to offer, entertainment, restaurants, shopping, and an airport.
