This resort area is located about 20 minutes west of Vail on Interstate 70, between Eagle and Avon. Situated on the banks of the Eagle River, Edwards is a Victorian-style community that takes full advantage of the surrounding scenic beauty. The town's history began in 1876 when an immigrant from France came to the area in search of gold. He helped to develop the very first resort in the Eagle Valley. Today, Edwards is a perfect blend of the old and the new west. Its population has doubled in just the past two years, and it's become a thriving community with much to offer. Edwards was voted one of the top family-style ski towns in July 2003 by SKI Magazine! The world renowned Vail and Beaver Creek Resorts and the Arrowhead ski area are just minutes away as well. Summer recreation includes golf, mountain biking, hiking and horseback riding. The community has a wonderful selection of homes along the river and in the mountains. There is also the downtown development of Riverwalk, a unique area for shopping, dining, working and living. The town offers public and private schools, quality health care at Edwards Medical Center and state of the art facilities at the newly completed Regional Cancer Center. Edwards is at the center of it all in Eagle County. Come enjoy over 300 days of sunshine a year in an outdoor paradise!
