Colorado Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Frisco, Colorado
Population: 2,443
Located in Summit County
Frisco is on the western shores of Lake Dillon, and the geographical center of Summit County. The town was founded in the 1880's when the railroad came through to service the mining industry. Now the railroad and mining are things of the past. There are two distinct business districts, Main Street with old west charm and Summit Boulevard with retail, franchise and service businesses.
The only middle school for Summit County is in Frisco, along with some of the county offices, the main branch of the library and the Summit Stage (free bus system) transfer center. Summer recreation includes, but is not limited to, the Frisco Marina, miles of paved bike paths, hiking forest service trails, and exploring nearby ghost towns. Major winter activities are snowmobiling and fishing on Lake Dillon, cross country skiing on groomed ski trails at the Frisco Nordic Center, and of course downhill skiing just minutes away at Breckenridge and Copper Mountain Ski Areas.
