Part of the greater East Colorado Springs area, Gleneagle is found to the north along Black Forest, Fox Run, Jackson Creek, Peyton, Calhan, Ellicott, Yoder and Falcon. Gleneagle sits at an elevation of approximately 6,000 feet and is an outdoor enthusiast's paradise.

About 130 miles away are seven major ski areas including Breckenridge, Arapahoe Basin, Copper Mountain and Keystone. The Front Range of the Colorado Rockies frames the city's western side, providing unlimited hiking and biking opportunities.

Gleneagle's economy relies heavily upon military, tourism and high-tech industries. Peterson Air Force Base, Fort Carson, Schriever Air Force Base, North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) and the Air Force Academy make up the city's military foundation.

Annual events are hosted by the Air Force Academy events, including athletic games such as football and hockey, musicals and concerts at Arnold Hall, planetarium programs and religious services at the Cadet Chapel.

Want to look a little further afield? Then check out the Fox Run and Black Forest regional parks, which provide plenty of outdoor recreation. These two parks, situated in ponderosa pine forests, are wildlife havens. Here you can view black squirrels, porcupines, red foxes and mule deer at the parks while hiking, horseback riding, snowshoeing or cross-country skiing. Palmer Park is another favorite destination, particularly for mountain bikers and hikers.

Other area attractions include the Pikes Peak Cog Railway, the U.S. Olympic Complex, the Cave of the Winds, the Cheyenne Mountain Zoo and Garden of the Gods, the Festival of Lights Parade and Pikes Peak International Hill Climb.
