Gypsum is located in the Eagle Valley next to the Town of Eagle and about 37 miles west of the ski-resort Town of Vail. Gypsum was developed at the meeting of the Eagle River and Gypsum Creek. The town celebrated its 100th anniversary in 1982 and has become a very progressive community in which to live and work!

The Town of Gypsum is very popular in Eagle County because of its milder climate and western flavor. It is also the location of the Eagle County Regional Airport which is the largest and busiest destination airport on the Western Slope. Traveling by air is the best way for visitors to get to Aspen, Vail and other ski and golf resorts in the area.

Gypsum's population has been growing at an average rate of 7-8% per year over the last few decades. The community offers several different housing types including upscale estates, single-family homes, town homes, apartments and mobile homes.
