Lakewood enjoys all the amenities of the big city and all the advantages of the mountains. With a population of 137,000 people in fourty-four square miles, there is still plenty of open space. In fact, there are more than 6,500 acres and over 80 miles of hiking and biking trails. Fly fishing, horseback riding and hiking are available at Bear Creek.

There are nearly 6,500 acres of parkland in Lakewood, making a city with the highest ratio of parks and facilities per resident. Fox Hollow, one of the nation's first golf courses accessible to golfers with disabilities, and has been named Colorado's favorite public golf course for the last five years.

The newest recreation facility is the Coca-Cola All-Star Park with a 90% replica of the diamond at Coors Field. Plans are underway for a new cultural center that will include a first-class theater.

DIA serves the Denver metropolitan area with hundreds of regularly scheduled commercial airline flights daily.
