The city of Sterling offers many recreational activities for kids of all ages, including softball, tennis, volleyball, racquetball, swimming and basketball. There are also clubs and organizations that run various other recreational activities.
North Sterling Reservoir State Park is 12 miles north of town, offering boating, fishing and camping. Prewitt Reservoir is about 20 miles south of town for those who prefer to sail and also has great fishing.
