Welcome to Callaway, Florida, a city in Bay County and just east of Panama City. Located in Florida's infamous panhandle, Callaway is separated from the Gulf of Mexico by the East Bay Peninsula. The location of Callaway is a definite plus, being within close access of US-98 and State Road 22.

The city of Callaway was officially incorporated in 1936. After only a few short years this cities incorporation ended over a debate of school placement. Then the reincarnation movement started in 1959, and was again instated as a city officially in 1963. Its residents are familiar with the history, and the government is familiar. One Mayor of the city was in office for 23 years. The recent celebrating of the mayor's 100th birthday was a show of such a great sense of community and pride Callaway has.

Community is a high priority at city level. In Callaway's mission statement is listed a pledge to the improvement of community, and the importance of education for the children. The devotion to these important needs make Callaway a wonderful place for family. And the abundance of recreational facilities does not hurt that image. From John B. Gore Park, with a boat ramp, two floating docks, picnic tables and tennis courts to the Brittany Woods, Patterson and Collinfurst Parks and the new All City Sports Complex you'll find an abundance of activities to participate in. If history is more of your interest then you will definitely find some historical landmines to appreciate in Callaway as well. The one room school house located in John B. Gore park is still open for viewing, as is the Ellie Fox Memorial Museum. There also is Veteran's Park where you can go and pay respects to soldiers who lost their lives for the fight of our country.
