The population of the city of High Springs is approximately 3800. When including the surrounding areas, population rises to about 8500. The city is governed by a major and four Commissioners. Our City Hall houses all city related services: water, garbage collection, code enforcement and a County Tag office. The tax rate is 29.7442 per $1,000 of assessed value; however the assessed value may be reduced by filing for a $25,000 Homestead Exemption yearly.
