The Lower Florida Keys are a unique island group with pristine waters and a true paradise appearance and a small-town, community feeling found only in the Lower Keys. Driving from Miami the island chain takes a westerly turn at the famous seven mile bridge. For many reasons the Lower Keys land development has been much slower than the rest of the Florida Keys. Housing in the Keys are referenced by waterfront or non-waterfront, canal front, oceanfront, or bay front. Prices start from $100,000 and increase to over $7,000,000. There is a very laid back quality to housing in the Keys; some refer to it as 'Island Style.' Every subdivision and key has its own unique characteristics and ambiance. The Atlantic Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico surround the island and usually are referred to as Oceanside and Bayside respectively. The Keys are separated by the Overseas Highway which is an extension of both U.S. 1 and A1A. When you inquire about property it is easiest to locate in the Keys are usually referred by mile markers; starting with mile marker 125 in Key Largo and ending at Key West mile marker 0.

MM29 through 33 is Big Pine Key. It is the second largest of all the Islands of the Florida Keys, home of the key deer and the hub of commerce in the Lower Keys. Most of Big Pine Key is located Bayside of the Overseas Highway.

At MM28 is Little Torch Key. Many of the Oceanside residential homes have sailboat access. Bayside there are residential homes, mobile home parks and mobile home areas.

MM27 is Ramrod Key also has Oceanside residential homes with sailboat access. Bayside has residential homes.

MM24 through 26 is Summerland Key with Oceanside residential homes that have deep water access. Bayside there are residential homes and a mobile home area.

MM21 through 23 is Cudjoe Key where on the Oceanside side you find residential homes, an RV destination park, a campground/RV resort, and deep water access for boats. Bayside has residential homes and a mobile home area.

MM16 through 20 is Sugarloaf Key. Oceanside on Sugarloaf we have residential homes with larger-than-average size lots. Bayside has residential homes and a school for kindergarten through eighth grade students.
