Seaward of St. Simons Island and accessible from there by causeway, Sea Island is an all-year resort in a lush garden setting of flowering shrubs, ancient oaks, palms and pines. The island lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the marshes of Glynn County. Sea Island has long been a favorite with heads of state, Presidents Calvin Coolidge, Herbert Hoover, Dwight Eisenhower, Richard Nixon, Gerald Ford, Jimmy Carter, and George Bush have all vacationed on the island. In addition to a smooth 5 mile beach, there are excellent facilities for golf, tennis, skeet shooting, horseback riding, and fishing.
