Vinings, Georgia has adapted and grown with the nation; with trains whirring past, carrying passengers between Florida and the North, automobiles creating the need for larger paved roads, new houses being built and stronger, new neighborhoods being forged. Vinings differs from most other communities in that it strives to keep the Village’s integrity and charm intact, making it a unique area protected from uncontrolled urban development.

Streets have been widened to accommodate the flow of new residents but have kept the philosophy of the community; keep the small-town charm. Sidewalks have been added to encourage more pedestrian traffic, while large office buildings, restaurants, service businesses, and other shopping centers have risen. All have respectfully kept the integrity of Vinings' historic significance as have the increasing numbers of elegant homebuilders and condominiums/apartments build in the area.

Vinings Jubilee, known by residents as “Downtown Vinings,” has shopping, dining and other recreational opportunities housed in a group of buildings, each featuring an architectural element from the Victorian period. Jubilee opened in October 1986 complete with street lanterns and a large clock tower as beacon for visitors and those new to the area.
