Mountain Home Air Force Base, Idaho

Mountain Home AFB and the 366th Fighter Wing have a rich history that stretches back more than 50 years to the United States dating back to it's entry into World War II. In these 50 years the base has grown to be the only Air Expeditionary Wing in the Air Force. We have five different weapon systems (B-1, KC-135, F-16, F-15C, F-15E) and are first to fight.

The base is located 10 miles west from the city limits of Mountain Home and 50 miles southeast of Boise. The town has embraced the military community which is evidenced by the number of retirees who has settled in the surrounding area. The town has a population of approximately 9,400 residence. Mountain Home is an outdoorsman's dream with an abundance of hunting, fishing and camping. During the winter months skiing, snow boarding and snowmobiling are the highlights with ski resorts within 40 miles from town.

As part of Mountain Home AFB's ongoing military housing construction plan, new base housing units were opened on Raymond Smart Circle in late summer of 2007. With more opening on James Taylor Circle.
