Location Chillicothe is located in central Illinois, adjacent to Peoria. The Illinois River borders Chillicothe on the East while many acres of rolling topography border the community on the other boundaries. Because of our close proximity to Peoria (which is just 15 miles away), virtually every amenity imaginable, if not available in Chillicothe, is "right next door"! We are fortunate to have Illinois Route 29 connect our community with Peoria's 474 Loop just 8 miles to the south. Rt. 29 can easily take one to Interstate 80 in approximately 30 minutes. Rail service is provided through the B.N.S.F. and Iowa Interstate. River terminal facilities are accessible in Chillicothe. Close proximity to the Greater Peoria Airport and the Lacon Municipal airport.

Chillicothe is surrounded by recreational facilities, parks, and the beautiful Illinois river. In spring and summer, residents enjoy boating, water skiing and fishing; while autumn and winter finds them hunting, ice fishing or snow mobiling.
