"Home of the Classics"

Auburn is a small, dynamic community with more than 10,000 residents and a full range of lifestyle and activity options. Once the home of the Auburn Automobile Company, each year Auburn celebrates its automotive heritage by hosting the largest collector car festival and auction in the world.

Auburn's attractions include two beautiful and ornately decorated Museums, which are the original factory buildings where Auburn and Cord automobiles were manufactured. The Auburn, Cord, Duesenberg Museum houses classic, vintage automobiles from the early 1900's up to WW II era vehicles.

The NATMUS Museum houses vehicles from the post war years. Visit the museums, the ACD Festival or eBay/Kruse International by clicking on the following images.

In the Fall of 2000, the Hoosier Air Museum (operated by the Hoosier Warbirds) opened its doors. The museum is in its own building at the De Kalb County Airport and features aircraft from throughout the history of aviation.

Another popular local attraction is the annual De Kalb County Free Fall Fair. For a week at the end of September each year, Auburn hosts a traditional county fair, complete with 4-H contests, a variety of merchants, and a ride and game-packed Midway.

Auburn is the retail hub of De Kalb County. Large shopping centers anchored by nationally known stores offer abundant choices with extensive parking. Expansive grocery markets, a pleasant mix of fast food, service stations and distinctive hotel/motel accommodations make the west portion of the community at Interstate 69 and Indiana Highway 8 a convenient area for visitors and residents.
