Bright, Indiana

Population: 5,500
Located in Dearborn County

Bright started off as a little crossroads, located just over the Ohio border, and north of Cincinnati. Today the town of Bright is a growing, thriving community that has wisely retained its rural appeal. The fastest-growing area of Dearborn County is the unincorporated community of Bright, which lies in Harrison, Logan and Miller townships in the northeastern part of the county.

The community's population is estimated between 5,000 and 6,000, and Bright is the third largest-growing area in Indiana. Its population has increased 64 percent in the past decade and is expected to grow another 30% over the next five years.

Woods, creeks, and gently rolling countryside team up with convenient community services. Housing opportunities include country farm homes, traditional styles, and gleaming contemporaries. Spacious lots retain the uncrowded country feeling that characterizes this delightful area. Most homes in the area are ranch-style homes on large lots, and they average in size from 1,400 to 2,000 square feet. Homes in that size range in price from $80,000 to $110,000. Homes within the city sell for a little less.

New construction is underway, and like the rest of the homes on the outskirts, they tend to be built on larger lots. These homes range in the $150,000 price range and up. Most of these are raised ranch or colonial style homes. For those looking for ease of living, there is a lovely condo complex, Inghams Mill Condominiums starting at $114,900.

Bright is a community that prides itself on its "family atmosphere". Therefore, children are afforded many options for recreational activity such as: various sports for all ages and cultural awareness and reading programs at the local library, just to name a few. Individual attention and expectations stand as the corner-stone of Bright's successful public and private school system.

Bright is a wonderful choice to live especially if you're looking for a larger home, yet still want to be close to the Cincinnati area. When you see the area's natural beauty and consider the cost of living is consistently lower than the national average, you'll want to make Bright your home.
