The town of north Webster has many historic buildings maintained today. North Webster even boasts of our own automobile manufacturing. Built in 1907 called the Ruth. The community swells in the summer months to a large population of “lakers” a term best known for the tourists. North Webster has any quaint shops, even a sternwheeler to take a scenic ride around beautiful Lake Webster. On the 45 min ride you go by the former site of Yellowbanks Hotel, which had many famous guests including Al Capone, john Dillinger and many more. North Webster boasts a rich history, which is still evident today. Webster Lake Conservation Association (WLCA), founded in 1950, is an organization that exists to service Webster and backwater lake residents in several ways. Our Board of Directors and committees work closely with the Department of Natural Resources, the Tippecanoe Environmental Lake and Watershed Foundation, and independent vendors to monitor water quality, aquatic plant life, and address elements in our shed that could endanger the quality of our lakes.
