The city of Hutchinson, Kansas (the "City'), is a community of approximately 40,000 persons, with an area of 22 square miles, located in the south central pan of the state of Kansas. The City is approximately 45 miles northwest of Wichita, Kansas, and is the county seat of Reno County Located in central Kansas, Hutchinson is a wholesale and trade/service center for central and western Kansas. It also is home to some of the state's most prosperous companies. Known as the Salt City for the vast salt deposits that lie under it, Hutchinson has a diverse business community that includes agribusiness, aerospace, health care, specialty vehicle manufacture, grocery distribution, mining and food processing. Hutchinson is also home to some of Kansas' most popular attractions, including the Kansas Cosmosphere and Space Center, The Kansas State Fair and Fun Valley Softball Complex.
