It is a volunteer-driven, membership-supported program aimed at improving the quality of life in McPherson. It accomplishes this mission through concentrated efforts in organization, promotion, design and economic restructuring. McPherson Main Street recognizes that a vibrant and beautiful downtown enhances the quality of life for not only its residents, but for local industry and visitors as well.
Downtown is likened to a small community. It encompasses 13 core blocks with 76 retail businesses and 71 service businesses employing over 800 people.
McPherson's downtown is a unique place, a special place. It is the community's heart and soul. Its buildings have evolved over the years, each one a mirror of the entrepreneurs and the enterprise they brought to this community.
