Cadiz, Kentucky
Population: 2,373 Located in Trigg County
Cadiz means "gateway" in Spanish, and that's what we are — The East Gateway to Lake Barkley and Land Between The Lakes. These two bodies of water surround a 170,000-acre peninsula. Several marinas and resorts are located on the shoreline of Lake Barkley offering unlimited recreational facilities. Cadiz is the seat of Trigg county, and is located near the center of the county on the Little River and US 68. The area was settled late in the eighteenth century and the town was established in 1820 to provide the county seat, although it was not immediately accepted as such. The origin of the name is obscure. Cadiz Antique Market consists of 5 antique malls located in a 2-block area on Main Street in Downtown Cadiz. There is a wide variety of antiques and collectibles for the advanced as well as thenovice collector. Featured items include furniture, glassware, textiles, pottery, lamps and lamp parts, stamps, coins, jewelry, toys, sporting goods, and much, much more.
