Fort Campbell, Kentucky

Being one of the most powerful and prestigious divisions, Fort Campbell is the home of the 101st Airborne Division. Over 23,400 soldiers and 39,400 family members call Fort Campbell home. About 4,250 citizens also work at the base, making it the largest employer in the state. Current commander of the 101st Airborne Division and Fort Campbell is Major General Robert Clark. Fort Campbell is a city within itself, with five elementary schools, two middle schools, and one high school. The schools continually receive awards of excellence. Fort Campbell also has theaters, a bowling alley, a mall, horseback riding, pools, and a library. Locally, the Tennessee-Kentucky chapter of the association of the United States Army (AUSA) has been recognized as the best local organization among the AUSA chapters world wide. The AUSA's missions are to educate the public, provide support to active duty and reserve soldiers, retirees and promote professionalism in the Army. The group sponsors many activities and trips during the year with their main fund-raiser being a golf tournament held during the summer at Fort Campbell.
