Arts and Culture The Pennyroyal Arts Council, the umbrella for ten affiliate arts groups, offers a year-round program of performing arts. Among the yearly offerings is a series of concerts featuring internationally known artists, presented by the Hopkinsville Community Concert Association. The Pennyroyal Area Museum, downtown Hopkinsville, offers programs year-round as well as exhibits including Hopkinsville's early history, railroading, the Cherokee Indian Nation's Trail of Tears, Civil War, and Jefferson Davis memorabilia. The Hopkinsville-Christian County Public Library is the second largest public library in the Commonwealth of Kentucky and and offers programs for all ages. Events with a family emphasis take place throughout the year. Little River Days, features road races, canoe races, craft booths and specialty local cuisine. The Indian Pow Wow, held at the Trail of Tears Park, features authentic Indian dances, traders, crafts, audience participation, and local, as well as ethnic foods. The Little River Arts and Craft Festival is held in the Little River Park and has an attendance of local and nonlocal participants.
