Turner is a rural community of forested hills, rolling fields, and family farms, which are located on the northern border of Auburn. It has over 200 years of agricultural history and produces apples, cranberries, eggs, dairy products, and numerous forest products. Its eastern border is formed by the mighty Androscoggin River, on the shores of which lie over 1,000 acres of state-managed land. This area provides four seasons of recreational opportunities for the local inhabitants, and an adjacent boat launch provides exceptional access to the river. Thirteen ponds of various sizes, most with public access, and two streams with excellent trout fisheries top off the recreational experience. Turner is located in the south central section of Maine. From the urban centers of Lewiston and Auburn, you are 30 minutes from the ocean or the mountains. Summers are warm and generally dry. Midsummer daytime temperatures average in the 80s, with comfortable nighttime readings in the 50s. Midwinter daytime readings run in the teens and 20s. Nighttime readings often run in the teens and single numbers.
