Waterville is located along the banks of the Kennebec River in Central Maine, and is the largest city of the Mid Maine region. With a population base of approximately 150,000 people within a 25 mile radius, Waterville is the hub of commercial, cultural, industrial, medical, and recreational activity for the area. Employment in the area is provided through The Chinet Company, S.D. Warren Paper Mill, Kimberly-Clark Corporation, C.F. Hathaway Mill, Maine General Medical Center, Inland Hospital, Colby College, Thomas College, Kennebec Valley Technical College, and numerous small business establishments in the Central Maine Area. Maine people are industrious and honest, the crime rate is minimal, and our people welcome visitors and newcomers to the Central Maine Area. There are a variety of activities available to residents; the State Capitol is 18 miles away, the local theater company performs at the historic Waterville Opera House, tours are provided by area mills, the local school systems have extremely active sports programs for our children, a new Children's Center is in the process of being designed which will combine the activities of the Waterville Area YMCA and the local Boys and Girls Club, or in about an hour you can ski at Sugarloaf/USA in the winter, or be sitting on the beach along the beautiful Maine coast in the summer.
