Chesapeake Beach, Maryland

Population: 3,180

Located in Calvert County

The Town of Chesapeake Beach offers numerous activities, attractions, and fun things to do. Known since the early 1900s as a resort town, Chesapeake Beach retains its quiet charm as a quaint waterside community on the Chesapeake Bay.

As it was in 1900, Chesapeake Beach is still a fun escape from Washington, D.C. Explore our history starting with the Chesapeake Beach Railway Museum. Let the kids enjoy themselves at the water park, or charter a fishing trip out in the bay with your friends. If you don't want to "catch your own," come and dine at one of our many fine restaurants.

The neighboring towns of Chesapeake Beach and North Beach grew up together in conjunction with the resort. Both towns supported popular bayside activities and entertainment as well as shops. For many years the fire hall for both communities was located in North Beach while the public school was in Chesapeake Beach. Seasonal and year-round homes were built in both communities, and the population of the area grew.
