The little village, which bears this name, dates to the establishment of the first post office there in 1848. The name very likely originated from the fact the Little Falls Friends Meeting was moved in 1749 from near Little Gunpowder to it's present location at Fallston. When the village had its first post office, situated where St. Mark's Church now stands, the Little Falls Became Fallston (Falls Town). It is still a very rural community with no major business or industry. Surrounded by large and expensive housing developments, the area serves as a "bedroom" community for Baltimore County and City. Fallston is a growing community though. A new development underway is Fallston Crossing, with single-family homes that start at $389,000, for a four bedroom, three and a half bathroom, three storey home. With all the latest amenities, these new homes reflect the way the village has grown and embraced the new slew of residents who decide to settle here. Fallston is located close to Baltimore, the "greatest city in America". Situated right on the Chesapeake Bay, Baltimore is truly one of Americas great cities composed of museums, culture and community events including concerts and festivals. Of course, sports enthusiast love watching the Baltimore Orioles or the Ravens compete in professional sports. If life at sea is the life for you, be sure to charter a boat to go fishing or even crabbing on the Chesapeake Bay. The brisk winter chill contrasts markedly with balmy summer nights, but our weather is never boring. Fallston prides herself at retaining small-town charm and ideals in an era of growth. From her rustic farms and modern housing developments, residents find that home is a refuge where they can truly unwind, relax, and enjoy life as it used to be and continues to be. With so much on offer, why not come out and check Fallston, you'll find a slower pace of life here, with plenty to do.
