Nahant, Massachusetts

Located in Essex County

The Town of Nahant is a small seaside community (about 1.6 square mile) of slightly more than 3,800 souls located in Eastern Massachusetts (USA), about 15 miles north of Boston. Bordered by the Atlantic Ocean, the cool sea breezes in the summer and the pounding surf in the winter make Nahant a favorite year-round visiting site.

Nahant is connected to the mainland in Lynn by a one-mile Causeway. There is only one road in / out of Nahant.

Nahant has two churches, the Village Church, a Protestant denomination, and St. Thomas Aquinas, a Roman Catholic denomination. We have a US post office and a bank, Equitable Cooperative, both on Nahant Road.

Restaurants include: The Dockside, Tony C's at Kelley Greens, Captain Seaside and The Islanders. We have a few variety stores: Seaside Variety, Richland Convenience and Nahant Market.

Nahant has three function halls including the Knights of Columbus Hall on Range Road, the Bayside on Relay Yard, and the Nahant Country Club on Nahant Road.

Next time you are in Eastern Massachusetts, take a ride to Nahant. The panoramic ocean views from East Point, Forty Steps and Bailey's Hill; the historic Town Hall and Public Library; Northeastern University Marine Science Lab at East Point, and Nahant's close proximity to Boston, are some of the features that make Nahant a preferred location for visiting scholars, doctors, writers, business leaders and professionals from all over the world.
