The Town of Natick, Massachusetts is rightfully very proud of its rich heritage and history as being central to the Revolution. Natick is located 18 miles west of Boston, and in 2000 had a population of approximately 32,170.

Natick is famous for its Minutemen Company. Membership in the Natick Minutemen and Needham West Militia Company is open to anyone who is interested in becoming a part of the celebration of our history. The present-day Company of Minuteman Re-enactors was founded to celebrate and memorialize Natick and Wellesley's rich 18th and 17th Century history. The original Natick, Massachusetts Company of Minutemen was established on March 6th, 1775.

Recreation:
Broadmoor Wildlife Sanctuary offers nine miles of walking trails and guides you through a variety of field, woodland, and wetland habitats. A recent addition to the sanctuary is a quarter mile trail and boardwalk along the bank of Indian Brook and over the marsh, which is a great spot for bird watching, photography, and drawing nature.

To enjoy this site in the winter, bring your snowshoes (if you don't have a pair, you can learn to make them in a special program at the sanctuary). Stroll along the edge of Indian Brook, which flows into the Charles River at the sanctuary. Look for beavers, otters, and wood ducks from the 110-foot-long bridge over Indian Brook.

Transportation:
Natick is situated in the Greater Boston Area, which has excellent rail, air, and highway facilities. State Route 128 and Interstate Route 495 divide the region into inner and outer zones, which are connected by numerous "spokes" providing direct access to the airport, port, and to Boston.

The principal highways are the Massachusetts Turnpike (Interstate Route 90), and State Routes 9 (the Worcester Turnpike), 16,27,and135. Commuter service to Back Bay Station and South Station, Boston, is available from Natick. Travel time to Back Bay Station is 33-36 minutes.Natick is also a member of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA), which provides THERIDE, a transit service for the elderly and disabled. Natick Neighborhood Bus provides service within the town and to Framingham Shoppers World.
