The sophisticated and upscale suburban area comprised of the cities of Birmingham and Bloomfield Hills, Bloomfield Township, and the villages of Beverly Hills and Bingham Farms is home to 100,000-plus residents. Located 30 minutes north of downtown Detroit, just across the river from Canada, the area encompasses 40 square miles in the heart of Oakland County, a county with a national reputation for its exceptional quality of life and positive business environment, and the second wealthiest (per capita income) in the country. The majority of that wealth is centralized in the
Birmingham-Bloomfield area.

Incorporated in 1955, the village of Bingham Farms was substantially developed with office projects during the 1980s. The community has held onto its quiet rural charm, augmented by scenic wooded lots and exceptional homes. Young Bingham Farms residents attend the Birmingham public schools. The average selling price of a single family home was $280,128 in 1995, up 4.7 percent from 1992.
