Michigan Real Estate & Relocation Guide
Bloomfield Township, Michigan
Population: 43,021
Located in Oakland County
Say the words "Bloomfield" to any resident within the metro-Detroit area and they can immediately tell you about the area! As Hollywood is to California, so is Bloomfield to Michigan. This community is located north of Detroit and is well known for its rolling hills, hiding most of the houses from view of the road, and for its many lakes.
This is a well-established city, and was designed primarily for the automotive executives and other well-to-do members of the Detroit community. Most homes are therefore well established - and are generally rambling estates either set into the hills or on the lakefronts. Land comes at a premium and a lot can cost upwards of two million dollars, because square feet, rather than square yard calculate cost before the house has even been built. New construction therefore comes at a steep price
There is of course a lot to be done here, many of the lakes are private and don't allow any public access; many clubs have been built on the lake shores, and offer their members many choices of recreation, from swimming and tennis in the summer, to ice-skating in the winter.
This is indeed an exquisite part of Southeastern Michigan. Winding country lanes give way to the lakes, or lead to the hills, and it has retained a sense of the country while still being convenient to the freeways and larger roads that lead to the Detroit area.
Bloomfield does not have a true downtown area, but is close to the bustling Birmingham downtown; and is also very near Somerset Collection, one of the most exclusive and upscale malls Michigan has to offer. This mall has one-of-a-kind stores and other upscale stores and restaurants.
Bloomfield is also known for its excellent school district rated in the Top Ten in the United States for Academic Excellence. It has combined with Birmingham to ensure a top-quality education where every service and amenity is offered to students to aid them in their studies and ensure their success.
Bloomfield has the feel of a rambling country estate, because it sprawls across several square miles. If Michigan is the place you call home, Bloomfield would certainly be first choice because of its sheer opulence and beauty; along with its fine schools and executive lifestyle.
