Located in Genesee County
A key feature of the Columbiaville area is the Holloway Reservoir. Michigan Lakes, Boating, Fishing and Recreation Courtesy of the 'Fish Michigan - 100 Southern Michigan Lakes' book. Holloway Reservoir is a 6-mile-long impoundment on the Flint River in northeast Geneseee and northwest Lapeer counties. The reservoir, which was formed about 40 years ago when the Flint River was dammed, lies within the boundaries of the Genesee Recreation Area managed by the Genesee County Parks and Recreation Commission (810-736-7100). Holloway rates as one of the state's best channel catfish lakes. Cut baint, night crawlers, dead minnows and various stink and blood baits (such as chicken livers) fished off bottom will all produce hefty cats. Concentrate efforts in the river channel and uplake coves where there is some current. The public access site is located off Henderson Road on the lake's southwest side. The paved launch is suitable for large boats, and there is plenty of paved parking. DNR District Office: 10650 S. Bennett Drive, Morrice, MI 48857. (517) 625-4600 Campgrounds: Wolverine Campground.
