Davison, Michigan
The city of Davison is a home rule, fourth class city which operates under a "council manager" form of government. Davison is one of the fastest growing communities in Genesee County, both commercially and residentially. The city of 6,000 has a brisk real estate climate with new housing developments dotting the area; housing prices are $30,000 to $500,000.
Davison has just built a very attractive Middle School. The district population is approximately 28,000 covering an area of 76 square miles. Davison Regional Park is located at the end of Harvey Dr. near the Middle School. A new "playscape" has been built there and a skate park is in the process of being planned. A lot of plans are being made for the development of the park. We also have Manford Park, a little neighborhood park located in Manford Subdivision.
Davison has "Your Ride", a bus service that is a part of M.T.A. that provides transportation in the city, outside the city and to the Flint area. The community also has available 2 senior housing apartments and an assisted living facility in the city, with a nice senior activity center. Residents enjoy a good variety of businesses for shopping. There are 2 drug stores, 2 hardware stores, 2 banks, craft and gift stores along with a nice antique store, a veterinary clinic a large grocery store with convenience stores and restaurants galore along the way, as well as an assortment of businesses outside the city limits.
The Davison & St.John's Festival of Flags is an annual event that takes place the last week in June. A large parade proceeds the event and the Business Expo and the Miss Michigan Pageant is included in the events that the Chamber of Commerce sponsors.
Davison is a nice quiet town that has a lot to offer.
