Elsie is a small, picturesque-looking town located in the very northeast corner of Clinton County. Elsie is located just north of the state's capital Lansing. This peaceful community has a population of about 1055 people. It is supported by local business and some regional industry, including aerodynamics, auto parts manufacturing and welding materials. The Maple River flows through the northwest section of town and includes a dam situated under an old girder bridge structure. Also known as Michigan's Dairy Capital, Elsie is still a rural center, although with its proximity to Lansing, it has access to many amenities that wonderful mid-state city offers.
