Farmington Hills is located in southern Oakland County. This city grew as an extension of the city of Farmington and incorporated as a city in 1973 under a home rule city charter. It is also host to several institutions of higher learning, including Oakland Community College, William Tyndale Bible College and an extension campus to Wayne State University. It has a population of approx. 80,000 and covers 33.4 square miles.
