The City of Grosse Pointe is the oldest municipality of "The Pointes". Established in 1893, it is a charming little community. This community has mature trees, its' own waterfront park (open to all GPC residents), a great shopping district, and a small size, all of which makes this city a great place to call home. Because of its small area, you can literally walk from one end to the other in no time flat! One of Grosse Pointes finest community organizations, The Neighborhood Club is located in the City. The Neighborhood Club provides both children and adults a dazzling array of activities year round. These activities, ranging from soccer to computer education, are open to all residents for a nominal membership fee. Grosse Pointe City has beautiful condominiums, built in the 1920s-50s that provide townhouse living for those who would rather watch someone cut the grass than do it themselves! Many of these units are close to "The Village", one of the Pointes prettiest shopping districts, making this area perfect for those who love walking or riding their bikes. |
